What to expect:

• As a Senior Expert Fixed Access Network Engineering (m/f/d), you are responsible for the implementation of goals, specifications, and business processes within the Fixed Access Engineering & Optimization team.
• You drive the further development of network management towards an SDN-based approach (Software Defined Networking).
• You design and implement scalable optical fixed access solutions for private and business customers.
• You develop fiber access solutions for all market segments in the field of Fiber Access technologies (e.g., GPON, XGS-PON, future PON technologies as well as P2P-Ethernet fiber) and prepare requirements as well as evaluations of supplier tenders for projects within the Vodafone Group. * You participate in the selection and management of suppliers and are responsible for the technical contract terms.
• You take on the functional leadership of external team members in the area of Fixed Access Engineering & Optimization.
• You create budget estimates based on the requirements of the fixed access network.
• You possess sound knowledge of packet-switched and circuit-switched networks.
• You bring comprehensive know-how in access technologies such as GPON, modern xPON technologies, and xDSL.
• You are characterized by analytical thinking skills and a strong technical understanding.
• You impress with high resilience and flexibility.
• You move confidently in an international, English-speaking working environment.

What distinguishes you:

• Completed studies in electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable field.
• Sound knowledge of packet-switched and circuit-switched networks.
• Very good knowledge of access technologies such as GPON, modern xPON technologies, and xDSL.
• Comprehensive expertise in the field of Fixed Access technologies (e.g., GPON, XGS-PON, future PON technologies as well as P2P-Ethernet fiber) with a particular focus on SDN (Software Defined Networking).
• Experience in dealing with protocols and interfaces, especially with southbound interfaces between OSS and SDN controllers (e.g., XML, JSON, SOAP, RESTCONF, NETCONF, YANG, OpenFlow, Kafka, or CORBA).
• Knowledge of standard web services and platforms typically used in OSS and SDN environments (e.g., Keycloak, Grafana, or MariaDB).
• Strong analytical thinking skills as well as a good functional understanding of complex relationships.
• Assertiveness as well as strong communication, cooperation, organizational, and conceptual skills.
• High resilience and flexibility.
• Very good written and spoken English skills.

This position can be held full-time or near full-time part-time (at least 30 hours).
