Health & Wellbeing Officer – Welsh Speaking Location: Llanelli, with travel across the local area Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Temporary Start Date: 7 September 2026 Contract Until: 6 December 2026 IR35: Inside IR35 Opportunity: Potential extension or permanent opportunity Travel: Flexibility to travel across the area is essential Welsh Language Requirement: Welsh Speaking Level 2 and Welsh Written Level 2 Health & Wellbeing Officer VNA Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Wellbeing Officer to join a busy programme within a large public sector organisation in West Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in public health, health promotion, wellbeing, social work, community development or employability support who is passionate about helping individuals overcome barriers affecting their health, wellbeing and ability to progress towards employment. You will work directly with individuals and communities, providing tailored health and wellbeing support through one-to-one interventions, group sessions, assessments and personalised action plans. The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working closely with health services, community organisations and other partner agencies. There is also potential for the contract to be extended or for the position to become permanent . The Role As a Health & Wellbeing Officer, your responsibilities will include: Designing and delivering health and wellbeing programmes for individuals and communities Completing initial and ongoing health and wellbeing assessments Providing tailored one-to-one and group-based support Developing personalised action plans with achievable and measurable goals Supporting individuals to improve mental resilience and emotional wellbeing Providing guidance around physical activity, nutrition, stress management and sleep Supporting individuals experiencing social or health-related barriers to employment Helping participants manage long-term health conditions and improve overall wellbeing Working collaboratively with health services, mental health teams, housing services and community organisations Developing effective referral pathways with partner agencies Organising health promotion campaigns, workshops and community outreach activities Monitoring individual progress and programme outcomes Evaluating the effectiveness of health and wellbeing interventions Maintaining accurate case records and programme information Producing high-quality reports, evaluations and strategic recommendations Building positive relationships with participants, professionals and community partners About You To be considered for this position, you will need: A degree in a relevant subject such as Public Health, Health & Wellbeing, Youth Work, Community Regeneration, Sport, Fitness or a related discipline Experience working within health, public health, social work, health promotion, wellbeing or a related environment Experience supporting individuals with complex barriers to employment Experience providing structured one-to-one support Strong understanding of the relationship between health, wellbeing and employability Ability to assess individual needs and develop appropriate support plans Experience working with a range of community organisations and partner agencies Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to adapt your approach to meet different individual needs Strong organisational and workload-management skills Experience monitoring outcomes and evaluating interventions Good written communication and report-writing skills Ability to work independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary programme Flexibility to travel throughout Llanelli and the surrounding area Welsh Language Requirement Applicants must be able to meet the following Welsh language requirements: Welsh Speaking – Level 2 Welsh Written – Level 2 Please ensure your application clearly demonstrates your Welsh language ability. Additional Information A DBS check will be required for this position due to the role involving work with young people and adults who may be vulnerable. The successful candidate must also be able to travel across the local area as required.
