Responsibilities
- Maintain, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM) and combustible gas monitoring systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation.
- Perform sensor validation, response testing, alarm verification, preventative maintenance (PM), and corrective maintenance on gas monitoring equipment, sensors, controllers, alarm networks, and control panels.
- Respond to gas alarm events in collaboration with the Emergency Response Team (ERT), providing timely technical analysis, troubleshooting, and system recovery.
- Conduct daily operational rounds and safety infrastructure inspections across facility sub-fabs, gas distribution corridors, and related areas.
- Ensure all maintenance and operational activities comply with LOTO, JHA, EHS requirements, and applicable safety and regulatory standards.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, electrical loop diagrams, schematics, control wiring diagrams, and gas monitoring system architecture.
- Lead or support root-cause investigations for system faults, false alarms, sensor drift, and recurring failures, and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability.
- Support the upgrade, modification, expansion, and decommissioning of gas monitoring systems in response to facility infrastructure and manufacturing toolset changes.
- Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to implement new detection technologies, system upgrades, software enhancements, and integration activities.
- Support PLC/SCADA integration and verify gas cabinet/VMB safety interlocks and associated monitoring functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance gas monitoring system reliability, safety, maintainability, and operational readiness.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, chemical, or other chemically intensive manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of toxic and combustible gas detection principles, including electrochemical, infrared, and other sensing technologies.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of gas monitoring or life-safety systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, control wiring diagrams, and system architecture documentation.
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA integration, gas monitoring control systems, and gas cabinet/VMB safety interlocks.
- Strong understanding of EHS requirements and safe work practices, including LOTO and JHA.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across facilities, engineering, EHS, operations, vendors, and emergency response teams.
