End User Computing (EUC) Transformation Lead - Citrix & Azure

We are looking for the Transformation Lead who can The Transformation Lead owns the technical and delivery leadership of this migration end to end. It's a multi-year modernisation of its end-user computing estate, migrating a large on-premises Citrix VDI environment (multiple datacenters, several thousand seats across front office, operations, and back office) to Azure Virtual Desktop. The programme covers landing zone design, image and application modernisation, profile and data migration, security and regulatory alignment, run-model transition, and user adoption.

Responsibilities

• Own the target-state EUC architecture on Azure (AVD host pools, session hosts, FSLogix profile management, image pipeline, networking, identity via Entra ID / hybrid AD).
• Define the migration strategy: wave planning, persona segmentation, lift-and-shift vs. re-platform decisions, and Citrix Cloud on Azure vs. native AVD trade-offs.
• Produce and defend design authority artefacts — HLD, LLD, security design, DR/BCP design — through the bank's architecture and risk governance forums.
• Lead the migration factory: discovery and application rationalisation, packaging (MSIX app attach / App Layering), pilot, UAT, production waves, and hypercare.
• Manage a mixed team of Azure engineers, Citrix/VMware specialists, packaging engineers, and service desk staff across multiple locations and time zones.
• Own the migration plan, RAID log, dependencies on network, security, identity, and application owners, and report progress to steering committee.
• Drive cost management: right-sizing, autoscaling policies, reserved instances, and FinOps reporting against the programme business case.
• Ensure the target design meets the bank's control framework and regulatory obligations (data residency across jurisdictions, privileged access, session recording, DLP, endpoint hardening, audit and evidence trails).
• Work with CISO, internal audit, and regional regulators' liaison teams to obtain design and go-live approvals.
• Define the operating model, support processes, and monitoring/observability for the AVD estate; transition to the run organisation with documented runbooks and knowledge transfer.
• Establish digital experience monitoring and performance baselines; own remediation of latency and application performance issues, particularly for trading and market-data users.
• Act as the senior point of contact for business heads, regional IT leads, and vendor partners (Microsoft, Citrix, ISVs).
• Own the change and communications plan: user comms, training material, floor-walking, and early-life support.

Profile

• Minimum Bachelors degree in IT/Computer Science or other relevant discipline
• 10+ years in end user computing / workplace infrastructure, with at least 3 years leading large-scale VDI transformation programmes.
• Deep hands-on background in Citrix (CVAD, Citrix Cloud, NetScaler/ADC, Provisioning Services, WEM, FSLogix or UPM) and demonstrable experience decommissioning or re-platforming a Citrix estate.
• Strong Azure expertise: Azure Virtual Desktop, landing zone and hub-spoke networking, ExpressRoute, Azure Files / NetApp Files, Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, Azure Monitor / Log Analytics.
• Windows 10/11 multi-session, image lifecycle automation, application packaging and delivery (MSIX, App-V, Intune Win32).
• Infrastructure-as-code and automation: PowerShell, Terraform or Bicep, CI/CD for image builds.
• Proven delivery in a regulated financial services environment — familiarity with change control, segregation of duties, audit evidencing, and multi-jurisdiction data residency constraints.
• Experience leading distributed teams and managing third-party vendors and SIs.
• Programme-level planning and reporting; comfortable presenting to CIO-level stakeholders.
• Microsoft certifications: AZ-140 (Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty), AZ-305, MD-102.
• Citrix CCP-V / CCE-V.
• Exposure to trading floor or market-data desktop environments (low-latency, GPU, multi-monitor, Bloomberg/Reuters integration).
• Experience with digital experience monitoring tools (ControlUp, Nexthink, Aternity).
