Head of Product, Coding Track
About the role The Coding Track Product Headwill build Virtuos’ coding agents and shape the future developer journey acrossour studios, bringing together in-house agents and third-party tools to improvehow game engineers work. Reporting to the Chief AI Officer(CAIO), you will own the track’s product direction, priorities and outcomes, and manage a team of developers and a Project Manager. You will work closelywith studio engineering teams to turn their needs into useful products andmeasurable improvements in code quality and developer productivity. What you will do Product direction and user needs • Own the vision, roadmap and backlog for Codingagents with clear priorities and acceptance criteria. • Work directly with studio developers andtechnical leaders to understand their workflows, identify unmet needs and testideas using real development tasks. • Prioritise work by user value, expected benefit, feasibility and dependencies. Use feedback and evidence to decide what tobuild, improve or stop. The developer journey • Curate a coherent developer experience acrosscodebase onboarding, implementation, review, testing and maintenance, combiningVirtuos agents with third-party tools. • Evaluate when to build, integrate or adopttools. Track developments in AI models and coding agents, and test whichadvances are useful for Virtuos. • Work with studio and platform teams onintegrations, onboarding and training, respecting client IP, securityrequirements and approved tool policies. Delivery and product quality • Lead agents from discovery and prototypesthrough studio pilots and production use. Work with the Project Manager ondelivery plans, dependencies and risks. • Assess outputs against representative codebasesand agreed quality standards, including correctness, maintainability and theneed for human review. • Measure adoption, developer satisfaction andengineering outcomes such as code quality and time spent on real tasks. Use theresults to improve the roadmap. Team leadership and communication • Manage and coach developers and the ProjectManager, setting clear objectives, supporting their development and maintainingaccountability for results. • Build alignment across studios and AI teams, resolve competing priorities, and communicate progress, risks and decisionsclearly to the CAIO and stakeholders. What you will bring • Substantial hands-on experience in gamedevelopment engineering, with a strong understanding of production codebases, development pipelines and the challenges facing game engineers. • A strong interest in AI and practical experienceusing it in code development, with concrete examples of how you have improved aworkflow and assessed the quality of its outputs. • A strong understanding of AI technologiesrelevant to coding, including large language models, agent workflows, retrievaland evaluation. You stay current with new capabilities and limitations throughhands-on experimentation. • User-centred product judgement: the ability touncover underlying needs, validate ideas with developers and turn feedback intoclear product requirements. • A focus on value: the ability to prioritisecompeting opportunities, make trade-offs and measure whether a product isimproving users’ work. • Experience leading technical teams, developingpeople and delivering software or tools used by others. You can work crediblywith engineers on technical choices. • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, build trust and alignstakeholders across studios and locations. • Ownership and follow-through from problemdiscovery to adoption. Product management experience is valuable; engineeringleaders with demonstrated product judgement are also encouraged to apply.
