Senior Clinical Psychologist

Within the Division of Specialist Services, the Senior Clinical Psychologist is responsible for providing advanced clinical services, consultation, and clinical supervision in a community-based mental health setting. This role focuses on direct psychological assessment and evidence-based, specialised intervention for complex or high-risk cases, clinical consultation and case reviews, clinical supervision to psychologists and interns.   Main Duties & Responsibilities 1) To provide evidence-based psychological interventions for children and adults with complex cases, including those with co-morbid mental health conditions. 2) To review and supervise clinical interviews during neurodevelopmental assessments and vet assessment reports (to begin with ADHD first). 3) To respond with risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention for clients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms or suicidal ideation. 4) To maintain timely and accurate case documentations in compliance with agency and funding requirements. 5) To provide clinical consultation and case reviews for complex cases and contribute to collaborative practices within VPS team and VCS context such as YNWA.    6) To provide clinical supervision to psychologist (Assistant Senior CP and below) and supervision to interns pursuing master’s degree in clinical psychology.   7) To represent DSS in stakeholders’ engagement, community collaborations, sectoral workgroups.   8) To be the project manager for CPST project. 9) To provide training and guidance to staff on evidence-based practices, ethical issues, and trauma-informed care approaches. 10) To initiate and conduct research to identify gaps, guide practice and contribute to the local evidence base psychological practices.
