Welding Department Supervisor
An experienced welder who would like to take on more responsibility? In this position, you will combine your technical knowledge with leading a team. You will maintain an overview within the welding department, support colleagues where necessary, and work together with the team to ensure that quality and safety always come first.
What will you do? As a Supervisor, you are the point of contact during your shift. You ensure good cooperation within the team while simultaneously monitoring the progress and quality of the work. In addition, you remain actively involved on the shop floor: technology and welding work will therefore still constitute an important part of your day:
- Guiding, coaching, and motivating welders and welding robot operators
- Supervising the correct execution and follow-up of activities
- Monitoring quality and compliance with work and safety regulations
- Coordinating production within the welding department during your shift
- Supporting colleagues with technical or practical questions
- Operating welding robots and performing manual welding work when necessary
- Analyzing technical problems and searching for solutions as a troubleshooter
- Noticing areas for improvement and contributing to more efficient operations
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and pleasant workplace
- Leading the team in a clear and respectful manner
- Setting a good example yourself regarding safety, quality, and work attitude
Where will you work? You will join an international company specialized in the production of square, modular silos for industrial applications. Despite the international context, there is a no-nonsense atmosphere within a close-knit team where colleagues know each other well. You will be given the necessary freedom to take on responsibility and help build strong operations within the welding department. Who are we looking for?
- Experience as a shift supervisor, team leader or in a similar responsible position within the welding world or technical production
- Good knowledge of semi-automatic welding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Sufficient maturity to guide a team in a calm and clear manner
- Strong communication skills and a natural feeling for coaching
- Sense of responsibility and the ability to make decisions
- Practical mindset and not afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Experience with welding robots is a plus, but not a requirement
- Basic knowledge of English
- Knowledge of gantry crane and forklift operation is a bonus
- Willingness to work in a 2- or 3-shift system
