Engraving & Production Technician – Trophies, Plaques & Awards

About Us Viking Awards is a family-owned shop in Westchester that makes trophies, plaques, medals, and custom engraved gifts for schools, sports leagues, and businesses. We're looking for a hands-on, reliable person to help run production from start to finish: take the order, set up the engraving, run the laser, assemble the award, and get it out the door on time. This is a production role, not a graphic design role. If you like making things with your hands, working with equipment, and seeing a finished product every day, this job is a good fit. What Your Day Looks Like About 40%: running laser engravers and printers, and checking quality About 25%: assembling trophies, plaques, and medals, then packaging finished orders About 20%: helping customers in person and by phone or email, taking orders, and updating them on status About 15%: setting up simple text and logo layouts in CorelDRAW (we'll train you) Responsibilities Run and maintain laser engraving and printing equipment, and troubleshoot basic issues Assemble and finish awards according to the work order Set up engraving layouts from customer text and logos, and send proofs for approval Help walk-in and phone customers, take orders, and answer questions Manage your own work queue so orders go out on time, especially in busy seasons (spring sports, graduation, the holidays) Catch errors before they ship and flag problems to management Keep the shop and work area clean and organized What We're Looking For Experience in a print shop, sign shop, engraving, retail, warehouse, or light manufacturing Comfortable with computers and able to learn new software. CorelDRAW is a plus but not required. Good with your hands and detail-oriented. Spelling and alignment matter on every piece. Friendly and dependable with customers Able to handle several orders at once and keep up when deadlines shift Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30–40 lbs Nice to Have Laser engraving, sublimation, or UV printing experience Basic mechanical aptitude Schedule Full-time with a flexible schedule.
