Process Specialist

Responsibilities and duties

Technical support for existing production processes, as well as proposing, developing, and implementing new processes and equipment, aiming for gains in efficiency, quality, and food safety.

You will act together with different areas of the company (Production, Quality, Continuous Improvement, P&D, Engineering, Maintenance, and Utilities) to ensure that improvement and innovation projects are implemented within the defined scope, deadline, and budget.

• Develop and implement process improvements in dairy product lines (yogurts, dairy drinks, creams, cheeses, and derivatives);
• Be the technical reference for industrial processes of pasteurization (HTST, HHST, UHT), homogenization, fermentation, membrane filtration (ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis), centrifugal separators, CIP/SIP, among others;
• Prepare technical and economic feasibility studies for CAPEX projects together with the unit's Engineering team;
• Prepare process flowcharts, P&ID, operational sequences, and technical specifications for equipment;
• Act as a technical interface with suppliers, service providers, and internal areas in defining process solutions;
• Conduct root cause analyses and propose action plans to eliminate losses, quality deviations, and production bottlenecks;
• Verify if the process used in practice is in accordance with the flowchart and technical specifications (formulas) from P&D;
• Responsible for monitoring industrial tests, evaluating the process (parameters/equipment), and reporting the result to the P&D team, within the Factory scope;
• Act as a technical link between operations and corporate engineering, ensuring technological evolution and the competitiveness of production processes;
• Ensure that all technical process documentation is updated and in compliance with specifications and engineering flowcharts;
• Prepare and review URS (User Requirement Specifications) and technical documents for equipment acquisition;
• Ensure the application of Change Management (MOC) procedures for changes in processes and equipment;
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and food safety standards (MAPA, ANVISA, BPF, HACCP, FSSC 22000, 3A);
• Support technical training for leadership, operational, and maintenance teams;
• Actively participate in innovation projects, new product launches, and industrialization;
• Simultaneously conduct and support multiple improvement projects.

Requirements and qualifications

• Completed higher education in Engineering (Chemical, Food, Production, Mechanical, Electrical, or related areas);
• Postgraduate degree or MBA in Project Management, Processes, or Innovation areas is desirable;
• Experience in food or beverage industries, preferably in the dairy sector;
• Proven experience in process improvement projects, including the implementation of new processes, equipment, and technologies;
• Knowledge of project management (schedules, CAPEX, budgets, and supplier monitoring);
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM);
• Intermediate English for contact with suppliers and partners;
• Previous experience with cross-functional teams and participation in factory leadership teams will be considered a differentiator.
