Installation: Installing fire alarm systems according to blueprints, specifications, and relevant codes. Maintenance: Performing routine checks, testing, and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance. Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with fire alarm systems, including electrical components and faulty devices. Repair: Fixing or replacing damaged or malfunctioning components of the fire alarm system. Compliance: Ensuring systems adhere to local, state, and national fire safety codes and regulations. Client Communication: Interacting with clients to explain system operation, maintenance needs, and address any concerns. Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of all inspections, tests, repairs, and maintenance activities. Emergency Response: Responding to service calls and emergency situations related to fire alarm systems. Training: Providing basic training to building occupants on fire safety procedures and system operation. Material Management: Ensuring adequate inventory of necessary tools and materials for installations and repairs Expectations:

Communication: Effectively communicating with clients, supervisors, and other team members is crucial. This includes providing updates on work orders, explaining technical information clearly, and maintaining a professional and respectful tone. Collaboration: Working well with other technicians, foremen, and tradespeople to ensure projects are completed smoothly and efficiently. Professionalism: Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, both in person and when communicating remotely. Attention to Detail: Ensuring all work is completed thoroughly and accurately, paying close attention to detail to avoid errors that could compromise safety. Class 3 Driving License: This is a mandatory requirement for many fire alarm technician roles, as it allows them to drive to different sites for work. Technical Certifications: Candidates with a Nitec or Higher Nitec in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience. System-Specific Certifications: Systems certifications related to those specific systems (e.g., EST 3/4) Experience: open to those with no experience, previous experience in fire protection systems is often preferred
