BSL TEACHING ASSISTANT – PRESTON Do you hold a British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification or above? Vida Education is recruiting a BSL Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist Deaf Support provision at a 'Good' secondary school in Preston. The successful candidate will support Deaf and hearing-impaired pupils in mainstream lessons and specialist settings, helping them access learning, communicate effectively and develop their confidence and independence. THE ROLE: Provide 1:1 and small-group support. Use BSL and Sign-Supported English to support communication. Help pupils access lessons and adapt learning resources where required. Support pupils with hearing aids and assistive technology. Work closely with teachers and the SEND team. Support pupils with EHCP targets and monitor progress. ESSENTIAL: BSL Level 2 or above. Experience working with children or young people. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, supportive and confident approach. Experience supporting Deaf or hearing-impaired young people or working within a school/SEND setting would be advantageous.
