Business Development Executive cum Quantity Surveyor
VIC Interior Pte Ltd is seeking a proactive Business Development Executive with Quantity Surveying skills to support our business growth, tendering and project acquisition activities. The successful candidate will identify new project opportunities, prepare competitive tenders and quotations, develop client relationships, and provide quantity surveying support for interior fit-out, A&A and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in interior fit-out, renovation, A&A and construction projects.
- Source and monitor tender opportunities through GeBIZ, Ariba, SESAMi and other tender platforms .
- Build and maintain good working relationships with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, suppliers and business partners.
- Prepare tender submissions, quotations, cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and measurement from drawings, specifications and tender documents.
- Source quotations and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare cost comparisons and analyse subcontractor/supplier quotations.
- Assist management in developing competitive tender pricing and commercial proposals.
- Attend tender briefings, site show-rounds, client meetings and business development meetings.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and tenders and maintain records of tender outcomes.
- Assist with preparation and assessment of variation orders, progress claims and final accounts where required.
- Work closely with Project Managers and the project team to ensure tender allowances and contractual requirements are properly communicated during project execution.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities and potential project opportunities.
- Maintain and update the company's project portfolio, pre-qualification documents and business development information.
- Support management in expanding VIC Interior's client base, particularly within the healthcare, institutional and commercial sectors .
- Perform other business development, tendering and quantity surveying duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Preferably 2–5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, tendering, business development or interior fit-out/construction.
- Experience in interior fit-out, renovation, A&A or healthcare projects will be an advantage.
- Familiar with tender preparation, quantity take-off, costing and subcontractor quotation analysis.
- Familiarity with GeBIZ, Ariba, SESAMi or similar e-procurement/tender platforms is advantageous.
- Able to read and interpret architectural and M&E drawings, specifications and tender documents.
- Good commercial awareness with strong numerical, costing and negotiation skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with confidence in dealing with clients, consultants and suppliers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other relevant tendering/QS software.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage multiple tenders and deadlines independently.
- Possess a positive attitude and willingness to develop both business development and quantity surveying capabilities .
