Tax Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Tax team in Sydney and are currently looking for a Tax Accountant to join the team.
The Tax Accountant will assist the business on corporate taxation, international taxation, transfer pricing, remuneration, and indirect tax compliance matters across various jurisdictions. Manage/assist the Group’s global tax compliance filings and reporting obligations.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of company tax returns and tax effect accounting calculations, in Australia and for overseas jurisdictions.
Preparation of half yearly and yearly income tax provision calculations required for consolidated financial reporting.
Assist with preparation of monthly tax journals.
Assist with preparation of various taxation filings including BAS, IAS, withholding tax and any other indirect taxes applicable (domestic and overseas).
Assist with remuneration. Employment tax and FBT matters including assisting with the preparation of the FBT return.
Liaise with internal and external advisors in managing the Group’s corporate tax, international tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing and remuneration tax compliance matters across various jurisdictions.
Assist with revenue authority and external queries.
Assist with international tax matters including transfer pricing and Country-by-Country reporting, BEPS Pillar 2 calculations, etc.
Support the Group’s Tax team on ad hoc advisory projects as required (e.g. perform tax research work, internal memos and advise the business accordingly).
Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external advisors.
Effectively advising and influencing internal and external stakeholders on tax implications and strategies.
Stay up to date on emerging tax trends, changes in tax regulations, and industry best practices.
What you will bring to the role:
Tertiary education in related fields (Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting).
3 - 5+ years experience in an accounting / professional services firm and/or corporate in-house tax compliance exposure.
Completed or nearly completed CA or CPA, or other qualified profession with tax compliance experience.
Strong understanding of Australian income tax, FBT and GST legislation.
Strong tax effect accounting knowledge.
Strong MS Office Suite skills, particularly in Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Corporate tax technical skills and a strong attention to detail.
Exposure to transfer pricing, indirect tax, GST and remuneration/employment tax would be helpful.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
