Become part of our Global Outbound Vessel Procurement Team, a specialized unit responsible for ensuring ocean freight and vessel solutions, thereby enabling the transport of wind turbine components from production sites to discharge ports worldwide. Our area of responsibility covers a wide spectrum of maritime logistics activities, including vessel chartering, liner services, project logistics, as well as heavy lift and special transports. As part of the Transport Procurement function, you will contribute to the development and implementation of global procurement strategies that ensure safe, cost-efficient, and reliable transport capacity for our projects worldwide. In a highly international environment, you will support the procurement of complex maritime logistics solutions, taking into account commercial, operational, sustainability-related, and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will take responsibility for procurement activities in the area of outbound vessel transport. You will manage tenders, supplier negotiations, and contract management to secure capacity, achieve competitive terms, and ensure high service quality. In doing so, you will work closely with Supply Chain teams and other cross-functional stakeholders, acting as a trusted procurement partner and helping to ensure smooth transport processes for the successful implementation of projects worldwide.

Your tasks

• Leading procurement and sourcing activities for outbound vessel transport, including chartering, liner services, heavy lift, and breakbulk logistics solutions
• Development and implementation of sourcing, negotiation, and commodity group strategies to secure competitive terms, reliable capacities, and effective risk management
• Negotiation and management of transport contracts, framework agreements, and charter party agreements in compliance with commercial and governance requirements
• Building and maintaining strategic relationships with ship owners, shipping lines, brokers, and logistics service providers to improve supplier performance and market access
• Monitoring freight rate markets, vessel availability, and industry trends, as well as deriving recommendations to support business and project goals
• Close cooperation with Supply Chain and cross-functional stakeholders to align transport solutions with project plans, operational requirements, and business priorities
• Functioning as a central procurement interface for outbound vessel transport logistics, as well as managing supplier management, commercial governance, continuous improvement initiatives, and logistics optimizations

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a comparable field
• Demonstrable professional experience in the procurement of ocean freight services, vessel chartering, project logistics, or a comparable transport environment
• Sound understanding of maritime logistics, including vessel operations, freight movements, and operational transport handling
• Experience with multipurpose vessels (MPP), heavy lift, breakbulk, or other non-containerized transport solutions is a great advantage
• Knowledge of end-to-end outbound logistics processes from production sites to discharge ports is an advantage
• Familiarity with charter and transport contracts, including charter party agreements, laytime, demurrage, and commercial shipping terms
• Strong commercial understanding as well as the ability to manage supplier relationships, support negotiations, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders in a global environment

• Strong commercial understanding as well as demonstrable skills in negotiation and supplier management in the areas of logistics, transport, or procurement
• Sound understanding of ocean freight, vessel chartering, maritime logistics, and global transport markets
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate costs, risks, market trends, and business scenarios as a basis for informed decisions
• Ability to build sustainable relationships as well as to collaborate effectively with stakeholders in a global, cross-functional matrix organization
• Demonstrable project management and prioritization skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment
• Knowledge in commercial contract management and supplier management, including transport and freight agreements
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented personality with a strong team orientation, excellent communication skills, and business-fluent English
