Research & Development > Nacelles R&D > Powertrain Module > Generator Submodule
In Research & Development (R&D), we develop innovative solutions for our onshore and offshore wind turbines. We are responsible for design, verification, and industrialization – thereby creating the technological foundation that makes Vestas a global market leader in the field of sustainable energy.
The Generator Submodule consists of highly qualified employees at our main locations in Portugal, Germany, and Denmark. The department is responsible for the generator, which converts the mechanical energy of the rotor and powertrain into electrical energy. Our team is shaped by the Vestas values: responsibility, collaboration, simplicity, and passion.
In the Generator Submodule, our developments are based on many years of experience with both internally developed and externally sourced generators, including both induction and synchronous machines. Our focus is on solutions with predictable performance, high reliability, and competitive costs.

- Certification in Design for Six Sigma is an advantage
- Experience in a global matrix organization and/or in the wind energy industry is a plus

- Strong technical understanding as well as the ability to communicate ideas clearly
- Enthusiasm, resilience, and result orientation
- Good self-organization and teamwork skills
- Strength in stakeholder management
- Understanding of business processes, especially in Engineering Change Management
