About the company

Our client is a global academic publisher and part of a FTSE 100 group, producing the peer-reviewed books and journals that move the world’s thinking forward. Behind every great marketing decision there is data, and they need a sharp, curious analyst to help their Marketing team turn numbers into wins.

Your tasks

This is six months of high-impact, highly visible work. You won’t be buried in a backlog. You’ll own your own projects, shape how a global marketing team makes decisions, and leave behind dashboards and insight that people actually use. It’s the kind of contract that looks brilliant on a CV.

What you’ll be getting stuck into

  • Building reporting people love. You’ll design and optimise marketing dashboards (hello, Power BI) that let marketers answer their own questions with confidence.
  • Telling the story behind the numbers. You’ll turn campaign, channel and customer data into clear recommendations, then present them to stakeholders who’ll act on them.
  • Running experiments. You’ll support A/B testing that lifts conversion and engagement. Real tests with real results.
  • Digging into the good stuff. You’ll work on campaign tracking, benchmarking and goal-setting, customer behaviour and segmentation.
  • Levelling up the team. You’ll create in-house training so marketers can analyse their own campaigns.
  • Getting the foundations right. You’ll work with Technology and fellow analytics teams to source, integrate and quality-check the data that powers it all.

Requirements

You’ll love this if you…

  • Get genuinely excited when you spot a pattern nobody else has
  • Are highly numerate and can make advanced Excel do things others didn’t know it could
  • Know your way around SQL, Google Analytics (advanced) and data visualisation, ideally Power BI
  • Have worked with marketing, customer and sales data
  • Have hands-on A/B testing experience and some wider statistical modelling know-how
  • Can explain a complex insight to anyone, from a campaign exec to a senior leader, and make them care
  • Think commercially and love seeing your work drive real results

Bonus points for any of these: Alteryx, Python, R, BigQuery, Marketing Cloud, Sprinklr, Contentsquare or Google Tag Manager.
