Daily tasks

• Analyze the scope of individual controls and how platform services can fulfil them for platform tenants
• Take part in building the automation services, workflows, and integrations needed to automate controls at scale
• Design and develop solutions to automate controls, including APIs, data schemas, and process flows
• Ensure operational, delivery, and engineering excellence while developing the Platform Control Plane
• Drive continuous improvement — automation, process optimization, reuse of solutions
• Collaborate across different areas to define and prioritize improvements to controls for platform tenants

Requirements

We are building technology platforms and services that improve the day-to-day experience of engineers and support them in shipping changes safely to production. This role offers the opportunity to build automation services that fundamentally change the experience for Platform customers. As part of this initiative, we are building a Platform Control Automation service responsible for sending controls compliance data to the right systems at the right time. This requires close collaboration with control and tooling owners, including helping them implement changes to their systems so data can be pushed from the Platform Control Plane. About you: Strong Java skills (additionally JavaScript or Python) 5-10 years of software engineering experience Senior-level software engineering expertise - strong focus on architecture design, big-picture thinking, and integration work Ability to lead a team of software engineers to deliver the right control automation solutions Understanding of Technology Platforms - Internal Developer Platforms and Hosting Platforms (internal and cloud) Knowledge of how controls affect software products Experience working with multiple programming languages, databases and schemas, API development, basic understanding of Linux and web technologies Solid understanding of how the internet and HTTP work under the hood - DNS, TLS, load balancing, reverse proxies, service meshes, and API gateways - and how these come together in modern microservice architectures Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Grafana, InfluxDB), familiarity with time-series databases Experience with iterative delivery - delivering value in small iterations
