Interim Group Director of Estates

Bury St Edmunds – £600+ per day

Venn Group's specialist Estates & Facilities recruitment team is recruiting for an Interim Group Director of Estates to join a large education group in the East of England. This 4 to 6 month interim opportunity offers senior leadership of a multi-site estates and facilities function, with a handover from the outgoing postholder and the possibility of the role becoming permanent.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Providing strategic and operational leadership of the group estates and facilities function across multiple sites
• Line managing around seven Group Heads covering catering, cleaning, facilities and estates
• Leading capital projects and infrastructure planning, and ensuring statutory compliance across all sites
• Overseeing in-house cleaning and catering services

About You

• Degree or equivalent in property, estates, business or a related discipline
• Experience leading multi-site estates and facilities teams at senior level, including managing managers
• Track record in capital projects, infrastructure planning and statutory compliance
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly as demands change
• Education or public sector experience (NHS, local authority, charity) is desirable

Key details

• Day Rate: £600+
• Location: Bury St Edmunds, with occasional travel to other sites
• Contract: Interim, 4 to 6 months, with possible permanent appointment
• Working pattern: Ideally 3 days a week on site (Monday to Wednesday), with hybrid working for the rest
• Start: Within 4 to 6 weeks
