Health & Safety Manager Location: London Working Pattern: Hybrid Hours: Full time Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract Salary: A pro rata salary of £63,000 per annum.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join a leading housing and support organisation as a Senior Health & Safety Manager. This role will provide operational leadership across the health and safety function, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, promoting best practice, and supporting the delivery of a positive safety culture across a multi-site portfolio. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to operational teams, driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and fire safety performance.

Key Responsibilities: Provide expert health and safety advice, guidance, and coaching to managers and key stakeholders across the organisation. Support and promote a positive health and safety culture, ensuring best practice is embedded within operational teams. Lead on health and safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews across multiple sites. Develop, monitor, and report on health and safety KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement. Manage and oversee health and safety projects, ensuring actions are tracked and delivered within agreed timescales. Review, develop, and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and ensuring corrective actions are completed. Oversee key compliance areas including Display Screen Equipment (DSE), lone working arrangements, risk assessments, and statutory inspections. Deliver health and safety training programmes and awareness initiatives across the business. Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements, including CHAS. Work closely with operational and senior management teams to identify risks and implement practical solutions. Support operational fire safety compliance and provide professional guidance on building safety matters.

Ideal Candidate Profile: To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have: Proven experience within a senior Health & Safety position in a multi-site environment. Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, compliance frameworks, and industry best practice. Experience leading audits, inspections, accident investigations, and compliance improvement programmes. Demonstrable experience developing policies, procedures, and health and safety management systems. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels. Excellent analytical skills with experience producing performance reports, KPIs, and compliance data. A NEBOSH Diploma, Level 6 Occupational Safety qualification, or equivalent. IOSH Membership (CMIOSH or working towards) would be advantageous. Experience within housing, care, supported housing, or a similarly regulated environment would be highly desirable. Knowledge of fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and wider building compliance requirements would be beneficial.
