Role Bay Contractor – Role Equipment Specialist Location: Oxfordshire Contract: 6 months Rate: £27 per hour via Umbrella Company Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Start Date: ASAP, subject to BPSS clearance Positions Available: 4 The Role We are seeking four experienced and dependable Role Equipment Specialists to support the Role Equipment Bay within a A400M line maintenance operation. Reporting to the Role Bay Coordinator and Head of Workshops, you will be responsible for servicing, inspecting and maintaining aircraft survival and role-specific equipment in accordance with approved technical publications, OEM procedures and applicable regulatory standards. You will play a key role in ensuring critical equipment remains safe, compliant and operationally ready within a fast-paced, safety-critical aerospace environment. Key Responsibilities Service chemical oxygen generators in accordance with approved OEM procedures and regulatory requirements. Inspect, repack and maintain life vests and associated aircraft survival equipment. Carry out daily servicing of Class 3 role equipment to ensure operational readiness and availability. Apply corrosion prevention compounds to relevant components and assemblies. Accurately record maintenance activities and update technical records and maintenance management systems. Maintain compliance with all safety, quality and maintenance procedures. Follow human factors, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention and tool control requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain workplace standards in line with 6S principles.

Essential Requirements Demonstrable experience maintaining and servicing aircraft survival equipment, life-support systems and/or role-specific equipment. Ability to interpret technical publications and follow approved maintenance procedures. Competence in using digital tools and maintenance recording systems. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality and compliance. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a demanding operational environment. Desirable Experience Previous experience in a defence aerospace, military aviation or MRO environment. Familiarity with the A400M or similar military transport aircraft. Awareness of human factors, FOD prevention and tool control practices. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent military or civilian qualification in aircraft maintenance, survival equipment or a related discipline. Security Requirements Must have the right to work in the UK. Must be able to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, as required.
