Head of Finance and Operations

Your tasks

About Role VeendHQ is seeking an experienced Head, Finance and Operations to oversee financial reporting, cash flow, compliance, and daily lending operations.

In this role, you will ensure accurate financial records, timely loan disbursements and settlements, strong financial controls, and reliable reporting to support business decisions.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and expense monitoring.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and quarterly investor reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in Xero and reconcile bank accounts, payment channels, loan disbursements, and repayments.
• Manage daily cash budgets, liquidity requirements, and the fixed asset register.
• Coordinate annual audits, Nigerian tax compliance, and US corporate and franchise tax filings through the company’s advisers.
• Work with HR on payroll processing and pension remittances.
• Oversee approved loan funding, disbursements, lender settlements, and support for loan securitisation.
• Resolve failed or delayed transactions with relevant teams and escalate operational exceptions.
• Strengthen financial controls, dashboards, reporting templates, and operating procedures.
• Manage relationships with banks, payment providers, auditors, tax consultants, and other service partners.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in financial reporting, accounting, reconciliation, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Working knowledge of Nigerian tax compliance, statutory remittances, and audit preparation.
• Proficiency in Xero, Excel or Google Sheets, and financial reporting tools.
• Experience with lending operations, payment platforms, and settlement reconciliation.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Fintech or financial services experience is mandatory.

• Salary Range: N867,540.38 - N1,127,802.49
