Senior DevOps Engineer – Azure / OpenShift

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Azure, Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO), Kubernetes and CI/CD to support a major Maximo upgrade and migration programme within the Aerospace & Defence sector.

The programme involves the technical upgrade and lift-and-shift migration of an existing Maximo 7.6 environment running on Oracle to Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.x running on DB2 , hosted in Azure Cloud.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Azure and OpenShift administration, CI/CD orchestration, Kubernetes troubleshooting, infrastructure monitoring and logging, and implementing secure DevOps and delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft Azure environments.
• Manage and support Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) platforms.
• Perform Kubernetes/OpenShift administration and troubleshooting .
• Design, maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines .
• Support automated build, deployment and release processes.
• Monitor infrastructure, applications and platform environments.
• Implement and maintain effective logging and monitoring solutions.
• Investigate and resolve platform, deployment and infrastructure issues.
• Apply secure DevOps and secure delivery practices .
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure and platform teams.
• Support deployment and environment activities for the MAS upgrade and migration.
• Contribute to technical remediation and environment stabilisation activities.

Current Environment: Maximo 7.6 + Oracle Target Environment: MAS 9.x + DB2 Cloud Platform: Azure Container Platform: Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) / Kubernetes Programme: Maximo upgrade and lift-and-shift migration Sector: Aerospace & Defence

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on Azure administration experience.
• Strong hands-on OpenShift / ARO experience.
• Strong Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven CI/CD pipeline and orchestration experience.
• Experience with automated deployment and release processes.
• Strong infrastructure monitoring and logging experience.
• Experience troubleshooting complex Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and secure delivery practices .
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working on complex upgrade, migration or transformation programmes.

Eligibility & Security

• SC Clearance required or candidate must be eligible and able to obtain it.
• Ability to work 1–2 days per week onsite in Derby .
