As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Technician, you play a crucial role in optimizing and maintaining technical installations, so that we can realize our ambition towards a fossil-free future. In this role, you are responsible for the corrective and preventive maintenance of mechanical components within our installations, such as gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers, valves, and pipes. Together with your team, you contribute to a reliable energy supply for our customers and actively participate in a safe and future-proof energy infrastructure. You ensure that maintenance activities are prepared, executed, and followed up according to the agreed schedule. You identify potential areas for improvement regarding safety, quality, planning, and costs and advise colleagues and partners on these matters.
Your daily activities include: Performing maintenance tasks independently or together with colleagues and external partners; Ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others; Registering relevant technical and administrative data after completion of assignments; Analyzing findings during maintenance and translating them into practical advice; Actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team to continuously improve. The base location for this position is Diemen; it is possible that you will also be deployed on projects at other locations as a point of contact, in which case you will regularly be at our power plants in Amsterdam and Velsen.
Who are you?
You have completed an MBO 4 or HBO-AD education in mechanical engineering and bring experience from a comparable technical environment. You know the dynamics of working on complex installations and feel at home in a role where technology, safety, and collaboration come together. With your knowledge of the English language, you can easily switch with colleagues and partners, also outside the Netherlands. VCA-VOL and driving license B are a matter of course for you, so that you are safe and flexibly deployable.
In addition, you possess: Strong communication skills: you know how to consult clearly, give advice, and record findings clearly; An active, positive attitude that brings energy to the team; The ability to arrive at smart solutions independently and together with others; An eye for safety; this is always your number one priority; An open attitude: you like to learn, share your knowledge with colleagues, and are open to innovation. What do we offer?
At Vattenfall, you work with us on a fossil-free future. In return, we offer you the following. You will receive a market-conform salary, adjusted to your education and relevant work experience. The level of your salary is based on your education and your relevant work experience. The salary for this position is €4,100 to €5,500 gross per month, excluding holiday allowance, based on a 38-hour work week.
