Your tasks
As a Sales Engineer at Vanderlande, you will identify customer needs early in the sales process and develop competitive technical solutions. You will collaborate with sales managers and technical experts to secure projects and present technical content to customers in the APAC airport segment.
- Define and implement sales tactics in collaboration with the Sales Manager to achieve project goals
- Resolve commercial and tactical challenges directly with the Sales Manager to maintain sales momentum
- Organize and manage all sales engineering deliverables from pre-bid phase through handover to execution teams
- Engage technical experts to develop optimal conceptual designs that balance technology and cost competitiveness
- Initiate and execute actions aligned with the sales strategy to drive project success
- Manage multiple projects across various sales phases simultaneously to meet deadlines and customer expectations
- Lead and coordinate an internal sales support team including procurement, planning, concept design, and controls
- Listen actively and analyze customer requirements to tailor technical solutions effectively
- Ensure timely completion of all procedural steps according to sales process checklists to maintain compliance and quality

- Communicate clearly and creatively to influence stakeholders and drive sales outcomes
- Collaborate effectively as a team player within an international, cross-cultural environment
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills by seeking information and taking ownership of projects
- Adapt to an entrepreneurial organization and work across geographic and cultural boundaries
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time to support customer engagements and project needs
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and presentations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to prepare and present technical content to customers
