Regional Compliance Manager
Job Objective
Lead the implementation, supervision, and continuous improvement of regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering (AML/CFT) programs across the four countries of operation, coordinating efforts with legal, risk, and anti-fraud areas, in order to prevent regulatory sanctions, strengthen corporate governance, and promote a regional culture of ethics, compliance, and transparency in all fintech operations.
Responsibilities Lead the regional strategy for prevention of money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud detection and treatment Design, implement, and supervise regional strategies oriented toward the management of risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other financial crime risks associated with the ecosystem's operation. Define guidelines, priorities, and risk-based action plans to strengthen monitoring, detection, investigation, and treatment capabilities for relevant events, with the purpose of protecting the organization against financial, regulatory, and reputational risks. Supervise the regional AML/CFT and anti-fraud program Ensure the proper implementation and compliance of policies, procedures, methodologies, and controls related to money laundering prevention, transactional monitoring, investigations, and anti-fraud management. Follow up on the effectiveness of implemented controls and promote continuous improvements aligned with international standards and fintech sector best practices, with the goal of strengthening the maturity and effectiveness of the regional compliance program against financial crimes. Lead investigations and critical incident management Supervise investigations related to possible events of fraud, money laundering, inappropriate conduct, or relevant non-compliance within the organization. Coordinate the analysis of critical incidents, definition of corrective actions, and escalation to leadership and corresponding bodies when applicable, with the purpose of ensuring a timely and adequate response to relevant risks for the organization. Lead the corporate ethics and integrity strategy Design and drive initiatives oriented toward strengthening the culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance within the organization. Supervise ethical reporting mechanisms, internal investigations, conflict of interest management, and corporate awareness programs. Generate risk intelligence and strategic analysis Analyze trends, typologies, indicators, and emerging risks related to money laundering, fraud, and ethical conduct through operational information, investigations, and data analysis. Present findings, metrics, and strategic recommendations to leadership and corporate governance bodies, with the purpose of facilitating decision-making and strengthening the preventive management of financial and reputational risks. Strategic advisory to senior management on regulatory changes Provide timely advisory to senior management and the board of directors regarding emerging regulatory changes for the prevention of financial crimes and their direct impact on business operations, through the preparation of technical notes, executive summaries, and financial or logistical impact projections. Provide a strategic vision so that decision-makers can adapt the business model in advance, capitalizing on regulatory opportunities and mitigating financial risks before new laws come into force. Coordinate relationships with banks, allies, and strategic stakeholders Provide technical support in due diligence processes, compliance requirements, and risk assessments conducted by banks, commercial allies, acquirers, processors, and relevant third parties. Coordinate responses and strategies related to AML/CFT risks, anti-fraud, and financial compliance, with the goal of strengthening institutional trust and ensuring sustainable relationships with strategic stakeholders. Lead continuous improvement and operational strengthening initiatives Drive projects for automation, optimization, and strengthening of processes, tools, and capabilities related to monitoring, investigations, and risk management for financial crimes. Coordinate regional initiatives oriented toward increasing the efficiency and scalability of compliance functions applicable to financial crimes, with the purpose of strengthening the operational capacity and continuous evolution of the area. Direct and develop the regional financial compliance and anti-fraud team Supervise, support, and technically strengthen the regional teams under their charge, promoting management aligned with risks, internal standards, and the organization's strategic objectives. Drive a culture of accountability, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement within the area, with the goal of ensuring effective and sustainable execution of the regional compliance program. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Administration, or related fields; Master's in Compliance, Risk Management, or MBA desirable. Experience in compliance, audit, or risk areas, with at least 3 years in regional leadership positions or in financial institutions/fintech. Knowledge of regional and international regulations (GAFILAT, FATF, UIF), money laundering prevention, risk management, internal audit, regulatory control, and corporate governance. Ability to coordinate multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. Clear and effective communication with regulatory entities and internal stakeholders.
