At Van der Valk Plaza Resort Bonaire, you are the first point of contact for the IT of a resort that operates day and night. Our resort is growing rapidly and is undergoing full professionalization. Your tasks

WHAT EXACTLY WILL YOU BE DOING? As IT Support, you ensure that colleagues at the reception, in the restaurants, the shops, and in the office can continue their work. You resolve most reports yourself and know when to escalate to system or network management. You work in a small team and have contact with suppliers and the IT teams in the Netherlands.

You are responsible for, among other things:

• Handling tickets and reports, from initial response to solution;
• Setting up, issuing, and collecting laptops, phones, printers, and cash registers;
• Managing accounts and permissions in Microsoft 365;
• Resolving malfunctions at workstations, cash registers, printers, telephony, and wifi;
• Documenting solutions so that the next report can be handled faster;
• Providing explanations and instructions to colleagues so they can work with our systems independently.

Requirements

WHY DOES THIS JOB FIT YOU? You get happy from a colleague who goes back to work with a smile. You work in a structured manner, explain technical matters in an understandable way, and remain calm when it is busy at the reception.

Additionally, it is important that you possess:

• At least 2 years of demonstrable work experience in IT support or service desk, in which you handled reports independently;
• Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, and managing users and permissions;
• Basic knowledge of networks (IP addresses, wifi, VLANs) and resolving printer and cash register malfunctions;
• A completed mbo 4 education in an ICT field, or a demonstrably equivalent level;
• Good command of English (Dutch is a plus). Speaking Spanish and/or Papiamentu is a strong wish: you will daily assist colleagues who speak these languages;
• Availability of 40 hours per week, whereby you are occasionally available outside office hours in case of acute malfunctions;
• The willingness to commit yourself for at least one year to the growth and development of our organization.

Experience in hospitality, with cash register systems or a ticketing system, is a plus.

BON BINI! GOOD TO KNOW IF YOU DO NOT YET LIVE ON BONAIRE

At Plaza Resort Bonaire, you work on Bonaire, part of Caribbean Netherlands. Dutch territory, with its own rules. We believe it is important that you know exactly what you are getting into beforehand. This way, you can start your new chapter here with peace of mind.

• Your salary is in US dollars (USD). This is the official currency of Caribbean Netherlands.
• Own tax system. The first USD 21,956 you earn is tax-free. Above that, you pay 29.4%, and from approximately USD 75,000, 38.4% applies.
• No health insurance premium, no deductible. As soon as you are registered, you are insured via Zorg en Jeugd Caribisch Nederland. Do arrange bridging insurance until that registration is complete.
• You are or will become a resident of Caribbean Netherlands. This is also important for tax purposes, because only domestic taxpayers are entitled to the tax-free amount.
• We will arrange your admission. As a High Trust Partner of the Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland, we handle the paperwork. You only provide your documents. Our extra service for a warm welcome.
• You are stepping into a new life, not just a new job. Housing, transport, groceries: things are different here than in European Netherlands. Our HR team thinks along with you, even well after your first working day.

The mentioned amounts apply to the 2026 tax year.
