Student Support Officer
Discipline Management: Support daily discipline operations, including managinglatecomers, managing detention / suspensions, conducting walkabouts withinschool compound and surrounding neighbourhood areas.
- Case Management: Conduct investigations into incidents,follow up with students and parent engagement.
- Student Guidance & Mentoring: Guide andmentor students with disciplinary issues. Monitor and track progress ofidentified students towards the school’s desired outcomes.
- Record-Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate andtimely records of student interactions, disciplinary cases, investigationfindings and progress updates in accordance with school protocols, includingthe use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) for incident reports andcase documentation.
- Safeguarding and Emergency Protocols: Follow the school'ssafeguarding and emergency protocols and escalate concerns regarding studentsafety or well-being to the appropriate school personnel in a timely manner.
- Confidentiality and Data Protection: Handle all studentand family information with strict confidentiality and in compliance withrelevant data protection obligations, including the Personal Data ProtectionAct (PDPA) and the school's data management policies. Personnel shall notdisclose any student or family information to unauthorised parties.
Qualification
(a) It ispreferred to have relevant qualifications or certifications in youth work orrelated fields. (b) Must havea minimum of 1 year of working experience in discipline management, casemanagement, or behaviour support involving youths (c) Possessesgood communication and interpersonal skills with youths and adults. (d) Possesseseffective strategies to guide and mentor students with disciplinary issues,e.g. experience with applying restorative practices or structured behaviourmanagement frameworks. (e)Demonstrates emotional resilience and cultural sensitivity, with the ability tomanage high-pressure situations professionally and engage students and parentsfrom diverse backgrounds in a fair and culturally respectful manner.
