Science Laboratory Technician
The Services required are setout as follows:
- (a) Provide logistical and technical support to theteachers-in-charge of Science, contributing to students' learning experience byassisting with the preparation and maintenance of materials/apparatus forpractical work.
- (b) Upkeep and maintain theschool's outdoor green learning spaces through the conduct of regularhorticultural activities including de-weeding, plant pruning, fruit protection,and harvesting, as well as the propagation and replacement of plants, and routinemaintenance and servicing of associated equipment such as Vegepods and selfwatering timers.
- (c) Ensure laboratory safetyrules and risk-assessment guidelines are adhered to through proper housekeepingand regular maintenance of safety equipments and fittings in the Sciencelaboratory.
- (d) Assist HOD(Science) tocollate existing resources, maintain stock checks, place orders, take care ofdeliveries and invoices as well as keep departmental financial records.
- (e) To perform any other dutyassigned by School Leaders, HOD(Science) and other assigned School Staff.
The Personnel shall minimallyhave the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- (a) A good understanding of laboratory safety would beessential.
- (b) Preferably have studied science in school or arecognized institute of learning.
- (c) At least ‘O’ Levels certificate or minimum 2 yearsexperience working in a primary school laboratory.
- (d) Good communicator who can work well with bothadults and children.
- (e) Proficient in use of Microsoft productivity toolssuch as Word, Excel and Powerpoint to maintain proper book-keeping records.
- (f) Proficient in hands-on skills to carry out simplerepairs on common Science learning materials such as electrical circuitcomponents or customised activity kits.
- (g) Good knowledge with practical skills on thegrowing and maintenance of plants.
