About the project

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Java Engineer to work on large enterprise systems in a European public sector environment.

The project involves the development and maintenance of secure, scalable applications supporting processes related to the handling of applications, offers, grants, audits, and funding management. The person in this position will be responsible for the development of backend and frontend components, API integrations, working with databases, and deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments.

Daily tasks

  • Development and maintenance of web applications in the backend and frontend areas.
  • Implementation of business logic, user interfaces, APIs, and database integrations.
  • Designing and securing REST API and web services.
  • Applying security best practices, including authentication, authorization, logging, and monitoring.
  • Writing unit and integration tests, debugging, and resolving production issues.
  • Deploying applications using cloud, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Monitoring the performance and stability of applications and test environments.
  • Participating in code review, mentoring, and providing technical support to other team members.
  • Collaborating with QA teams, refining requirements, and estimating work.
  • Ensuring code quality and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in IT.
  • Higher education corresponding to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), e.g., bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Very good knowledge of Java as well as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and creating REST API.
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of WebLogic, JEE, and EJB.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure and deploying applications in the cloud.
  • Practical knowledge of securing REST API, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
  • Knowledge of at least one frontend framework: Angular, React, or Vue; Bootstrap is also welcome.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and build tools, e.g., Maven, GitLab, Bamboo, Jenkins, or Nexus.
  • Knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and collaboration and documentation tools.
  • Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of SOA architecture and service bus-based architecture.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of JUnit and Mockito, as well as code quality and security analysis tools, e.g., SonarQube, SonarLint, or HP Fortify.
  • Ability for technical communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing.
  • Knowledge of English or French at a minimum B2 level.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Apache Camel.
  • Knowledge of Drools or other business rule engines.
  • Experience using AI tools that support programming, e.g., Amazon Q or Kiro.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis and the basics of project management.
  • Experience in mentoring and acting as a technical leader.
