IT Transition Manager with German

Location: remote work possible from UK / Poland / Germany + frequent business travel and on-site work in Germany Form of cooperation: B2B Rate 1300 – 1600 pln/MD

About the project Join an international IT transformation program being implemented for a global organization. The project involves moving systems, applications, and IT services to a target Global Business Services (GBS) / Shared Services model. We are looking for an experienced IT Transition Manager who will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the transition within an assigned IT area – from analysis and planning, through knowledge transfer and cutover preparation, to post-migration environment stabilization. This is a role for a person with experience in transformation and consulting projects, who moves fluently in an enterprise IT environment and can manage a complex transition involving multiple stakeholders.

Important: this is not an operational role or a position focused solely on the current maintenance of the IT environment. We are looking for someone who has practical experience in leading the transition, transformation, or migration of IT services and environments and can independently manage this process from start to finish.

Daily tasks

• Leading the end-to-end transition of IT systems, applications, and services to the GBS / Shared Services model.
• Planning and coordinating activities related to transition, knowledge transfer, cutover, and stabilization.
• Managing schedules, dependencies, risks, and issues within assigned workstreams.
• Maintaining and updating the RAID Log and escalating key risks.
• Collaborating with IT teams, system and process owners, and key business stakeholders.
• Identifying gaps and dependencies regarding applications, infrastructure, integration, and IT service delivery.
• Supporting the design of the target IT operating model, including processes, controls, access models, and support.
• Conducting workshops, project meetings, status meetings, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Monitoring milestone achievement and ensuring compliance of activities with program governance.
• Ensuring a controlled, auditable, and compliant transition process, also in the context of GDPR.
• Collaborating with local IT teams and stakeholders in Germany.

Requirements

Who are we looking for? We are looking for a person who possesses: Documented experience in leading IT Transition, IT Transformation, or IT service migration. Experience in projects related to GBS, Shared Services, or operating model transformation. Experience gained in a consulting, advisory, or transformation project environment. Very good knowledge of enterprise IT environments, including applications, infrastructure, integration, and IT Service Management (ITSM). Experience in leading complex projects implemented in an international environment with multiple stakeholders. Very good skills in project management, governance, risk management, and RAID. Experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders. Fluency in German and English – a mandatory requirement. Readiness for frequent business travel and on-site work in Germany for longer periods. Nice to have Experience collaborating with German IT teams and organizations operating in the German market. Experience in projects implemented for large, international organizations. Experience collaborating with works councils or other employee representatives. Knowledge of processes related to the transformation and centralization of IT services.
