We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist for an international project being implemented for a large public sector organization at the European level. The person in this position will be responsible for acquiring, integrating, and analyzing data related to the European bioeconomy and the agricultural sector, supporting the creation of analyses and recommendations used in the public policy-making process.

Daily tasks

  • Designing and developing a multi-level relational database covering EU, national, and regional level data.
  • Acquiring, integrating, and processing data from European and international statistical sources.
  • Creating and maintaining ETL processes and data quality control procedures.
  • Analyzing data regarding the agricultural sector and bioeconomy and preparing business and scientific conclusions.
  • Collaborating with experts, scientists, public administration representatives, and external partners.
  • Developing data exploration tools and solutions utilizing artificial intelligence.
  • Preparing reports, dashboards, visualizations, and presentation materials.
  • Creating technical documentation and training materials.
  • Participating in workshops and events related to the use of data in decision-making processes.

Requirements

Higher education (Master's or Bachelor's/Engineer's degree) supported by relevant professional experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in using MuSIASEM methodology and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools. Minimum 1 year of commercial experience in programming in Python. Minimum 1 year of experience in web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6), D3.js. Experience working with ETL processes, data integration, and data modeling. Very good knowledge of Power BI and the DAX language. Very good knowledge of Git and good practices related to versioning and code quality. Experience in data analysis and the application of statistical methods. Knowledge of European databases regarding the agricultural sector (Eurostat, FAO or similar). Very good knowledge of the English language (min. C1).
