Architect C++ (Legacy)
English level: Upper-Intermediate (B2) Settlement form: 1300-1500 pln/md B2B Work model: Remote About the project We are looking for an experienced Software/System Architect with strong experience in C++, who will join a project in the healthcare area. You will work on the development and security improvement of a large, mature on-premise product, based on a monolithic C++ application with a Qt interface. This is a project for someone who feels comfortable in a legacy environment and can make architectural decisions without destabilizing the existing, business-critical system.
Daily tasks
- Analysis of security requirements from the perspective of system and software architecture.
- Determining the way to implement security requirements in the existing product.
- Designing solutions for security problems requiring changes at the architecture level.
- Assessing technical impact, dependencies, and risks related to implementation.
- Determining whether a given requirement should be resolved at the application, infrastructure, or environment level.
- Designing secure solutions, including for:
- file processing,
- database access,
- authentication,
- integration with external systems,
- other trust boundaries.
- Supporting developers during the implementation of designed solutions.
- Reviewing proposed technical solutions.
- Ensuring the compatibility of changes with the existing legacy architecture.
- Close cooperation with the IT Security Expert, architects, and the development team.
- Support in establishing technical priorities and making architectural decisions.
Requirements
Requirements Very good experience in the field of software engineering and software/system architecture. Experience in designing solutions for large, monolithic applications. Practical experience with legacy C++ — strongly preferred. Knowledge of desktop/on-premise applications based on Qt will be a great asset. Experience in introducing architectural changes to mature systems without destabilizing existing functionality. Good knowledge of low-level issues, such as: memory management, multithreading, concurrency. Ability to assess whether a security requirement should be resolved at the application, architecture, or infrastructure/environment level. Experience with enterprise on-premise products or in the healthcare sector will be an additional asset. Ability to translate security requirements into concrete and practical architectural solutions. English at a minimum B2 level.
