University Deacon, Uppsala pastorat
Uppsala pastorat is seeking a deacon to be based at Universitetskyrkan.
In Universitetskyrkan's ecumenical team, community and meeting places are formed and invited. There, your tasks will include individual conversations, bereavement groups, crisis support, and campus presence.
A team that works closely together
As a university deacon, you will be part of the Universitetskyrkan collegium and have your office in Uppsala studentkår's kårhus. You will also have an affiliation with the Helga Trefaldighets församling working group, and Uppsala pastorat is your employer.
Tasks
Universitetskyrkan in Uppsala is part of the student social network at Uppsala's two universities, and there you will become part of a team that works together on tasks including the following:
- Individual conversations and bereavement groups
- Training and workshops on norms, values, group dynamics, communication, and conflict management for student groups and staff – often in close cooperation with studenthälsan
- Presence at nations and campus
- Acute crisis management in the event of death and other crises, crisis preparedness
- Acting as a link between the students and the local parishes
We are looking for someone who
- Is an ordained deacon in the Svenska kyrkan order
- Is ecumenically well-anchored
- Has good experience in pastoral care and preferably further education
- Has experience in parish work
- Speaks and writes English fluently
- Has a B-driver's license.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability, and you do not need to have experience in everything mentioned above, but you need to be willing to learn and take on the tasks.
About the position
The position is full-time and involves working both during the day and in the evening, as well as certain weekends. Commencement by agreement.
