Project Accountant / Analyst
Responsibilities:
Monitor project income, expenses, budgets, commitments, and cash flow. Prepare regular project financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis. Track project costs against approved budgets and identify potential overruns early. Monitor project profitability and gross margins. Support project billing, invoicing, revenue tracking, and collections. Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost schedules, and financial models. Review project transactions to ensure accuracy, proper approval, and compliance. Prepare project cash flow forecasts and identify potential funding or collection issues. Provide financial support for contracts, variations, claims, tenders, and commercial decisions. Work with Project Managers to understand financial performance and recommend corrective actions. Support project financial close-out, reconciliations, and profitability reviews. Assist with audits, internal controls, and compliance with accounting and tax requirements. Improve financial reporting, Excel trackers, dashboards, and project control processes.
Requirements:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in project accounting, financial analysis, management accounting, or project controls. Professional qualification or progress towards ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is an advantage. Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, and analysis. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, formulas, and financial modelling. Experience with accounting software or ERP systems; QuickBooks experience is an advantage. Experience in engineering, construction, oil & gas, energy, telecommunications, or technical services is an advantage.
