About the company
At Uniaventura S.A., we are looking for a Foreign Trade Manager to comprehensively and autonomously manage our imports, from purchasing from the international supplier to the receipt of goods in the warehouse. We are looking for a person with real operational experience, capable of anticipating problems, coordinating the various stakeholders, and resolving the day-to-day operations of the area without permanent supervision.
Your tasks
- Manage imports from start to finish: purchase orders, production, shipments, arrival, customs clearance, nationalization, and delivery to the warehouse.
- Directly coordinate and control the management of customs brokers, forwarders, port terminals, fiscal warehouses, carriers, and free zone operators; do not limit yourself to tracking third parties.
- Organize withdrawals from terminals and fiscal warehouses, appointments, land freight, escorts, PEMA, and other corresponding logistical tasks, until the final destination.
- Manage operations in Zona Franca La Plata, including entries, stock, withdrawals, and partial nationalizations, together with the customs broker and operator.
- Comprehensively review commercial, transport, and customs documentation; detect inconsistencies and manage their correction with suppliers and intervening professionals.
- Maintain direct contact with international suppliers, negotiate commercial conditions, and follow up on production, deadlines, and quality.
- Coordinate foreign payments and banking documentation with Administration/Finance and intervening entities; control commitments and deadlines.
- Budget and control complete import costs, compare quotes, and analyze deviations between estimated and actual costs.
- Keep schedules, reports, and alerts updated; coordinate supply priorities with Commercial, Logistics, and Warehouses, and timely escalate decisions to Management.
Requirements
- Verifiable experience of at least 3 years in comprehensive and autonomous import management in importing companies; priority will be given to those who have been the operational lead for the complete circuit.
- Practical experience coordinating clearances, withdrawals, local transport, fiscal warehouses, and free zone operations; ability to explain specific cases managed personally.
- Mastery of commercial and logistics documentation and knowledge of applicable customs and exchange procedures, working together with customs brokers and banks.
- Solid written business English and comprehension; oral communication skills for dealing with international suppliers are especially valued.
- Degree in Foreign Trade, International Trade, or related fields; solid command of Excel and tracking tools.
- Organization, judgment, initiative, autonomy, and the ability to resolve incidents and manage several operations simultaneously.
We especially value
- Experience operating with Zona Franca La Plata and partial nationalizations.
- Imports from China and other Asian markets, including negotiation with suppliers.
- Ability to improve procedures, reports, and controls; knowledge of forecast, inventories, and cash flow.
- Experience or interest in developing exports to Latin America.
