This is a temporary position for 1.5 years, with employment starting from November 2026. The place of work is Bergen. About AI LEARN AI LEARN is a new national center dedicated to strengthening human learning through responsible, human-centered artificial intelligence. In a world where AI systems are changing the way we learn, work, create, lead, and participate in democracy, our center addresses the opportunities and dangers of hybrid intelligence – humans and machines working and learning together. Our goal is to establish an internationally leading interdisciplinary hub that promotes fundamental research, responsible innovation, robust governance, and broad capacity building. AI LEARN is a consortium consisting of 34 national and international partners from academia and the public and private sectors. Six national research centers for artificial intelligence will launch in the autumn of 2025. Here, researchers will collaborate across disciplines to meet societal challenges, understand how AI affects us, develop new technology, and promote innovation in both industry and the public sector. The centers are part of and funded by the government's multi-billion NOK investment in artificial intelligence over the next five years (regjeringen.no) through the Research Council. About the project/tasks: As a national center, AI LEARN is responsible for communication, dissemination, utilization of results (DEC), stakeholder dialogue, and capacity building towards various target groups. In this context, AI LEARN is seeking an AI research communicator who will participate in the center's internal and external communication. Tasks: We need a person who can make research understandable and relevant for various target groups. You will work with both practical communication and research on dissemination, AI competence development, and societal dialogue.
- Content production and research dissemination
Translate complex research on AI, learning, governance, and ethics into clear and engaging messages in Norwegian and English. Plan and produce content for: websites and news stories social media, newsletters, and campaigns chronicles, reports, press releases podcasts, video, infographics, and simple animated formats policy briefs and short knowledge notes for decision-makers
Collaborate closely with researchers and partners to develop communication packages related to specific projects, case studies, and pilots.
- Events, networks, and stakeholder dialogue
Plan and organize: AI LEARN's annual showcase conference seminars, webinars, courses, and panels arenas for co-creation with users (students, teachers, leaders, citizens).
Further develop relationships with: national and international networks (AI LEARN International Network, NORA, Digital Norway, European EdTech Alliance, etc.) directorates, municipalities, county municipalities, and other public actors technology and edtech companies, NGOs, and interest organizations.
Assist in the buildup and operation of NEXUS activities and other capacity-building measures for various target groups.
- Research, testing, and evaluation
Participate in or initiate projects that investigate: how different target groups understand and use knowledge about AI how AI solutions can support learning, critical and creative thinking, and civic participation which forms of dissemination and learning arrangements actually work (e.g., mini-courses, game-based learning, museum programs, citizen-workshops)
Maintain good contact when meeting researchers, partners, politicians, and administration Design and conduct simple surveys (questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, web statistics) to evaluate dissemination measures and capacity-building activities Contribute to reports, scientific publications, and popular science texts about science communication, AI competence, and societal dialogue

Other administrative tasks may be added to the position as in other researcher positions. Qualifications and attributes: You must: have obtained a master's degree in communication, journalism, media studies, social sciences, or humanities have experience with research and knowledge dissemination, preferably from universities and colleges, research institutes, directorates, or larger knowledge organizations have very good written and oral skills in Norwegian and English experience from research projects or evaluation (simple methods such as questionnaires, qualitative interviews, measuring the effect of communication) experience with: text production for various channels and target groups content production for digital platforms (e.g., website, SoMe, newsletters) design, development, and establishment of communication strategy
