Cardiology Study Center

Our clinical cardiology study center manages a large number of clinical studies. The infrastructure of the Clinical Study Group (CSG) from the DZHK is also located here as a main component. Accordingly, the majority of the clinical studies we conduct at this location are projects developed within the framework of the DZHK scientific network. These studies, which are generally conducted independently of industrial sponsors, have high scientific standards and are very strongly oriented towards current problems with relevance to cardiological guidelines in terms of medical questions.

Through the infrastructure of the study center, hospital-specific questions are also addressed, some of which are developed using a translational approach in conjunction with the molecular research laboratory. In particular, prospective investigations into structural heart diseases should be mentioned here. For example, the Kiel TAVI and aortic valve register is linked to a large biobank, which enables the development of new, innovative biomarkers.
