At the BioBank Bonn of the Universitätsklinikum Bonn, the following position in part-time (19.25 hours/week) is to be filled at the earliest possible date:
Computer Scientist / Software Engineer for Database Infrastructure (m/f/d)
The position is to be filled on a fixed-term basis within the scope of the project duration until 31.12.2029.
You will work in an interdisciplinary team at the interface between the BioBank Bonn and the Datenintegrationszentrum (DIZ) of the Universitätsklinikum Bonn. Within the framework of the NUM project "Biobank-Plattform für Deutschland," the IT infrastructures of both areas are being further developed and the connection to national platforms is being expanded to enable cross-location use of bio-samples and research data.
Your tasks:
- Support and further development of the IT infrastructure
- Administration and further development of Biobank Information Management Systems (LIMS/BIMS)
- Development and maintenance of interfaces to data integration centers, research data portals, and national platforms
- Support in data harmonization, interoperability, and FAIR Data principles
- Implementation of data protection and IT security requirements
- Participation in national working groups of the NUM and GBN
Your profile:
- Completed studies in Informatik, Bioinformatik, Medizininformatik, or a comparable qualification
- Mature programming skills in Java, as well as experience in relevant technologies and tools
- Knowledge of databases, interface development, and research data management, as well as data protection and information security concepts in healthcare
- Experience with Linux, SQL, APIs, and container technologies is an advantage
- Interest in biomedical research and digital research infrastructures
- Independent, careful, and structured way of working
- English skills in speaking and writing are required, German skills are desirable
- Very good teamwork and communication skills as well as a friendly and courteous manner with the stakeholders of the Biobank
