Hourly Language Teachers

OBJECTIVE:

To teach classes and perform activities inherent to teaching (advisor, tutor, researcher) at the higher education level.

ACADEMIC AREA:

Languages (English, German, French, Chinese, Arabic)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out the tasks inherent to teaching classes.
• Prepare and apply partial evaluations, ordinary exams, extraordinary exams, and/or proficiency exams.
• Review evaluations with students.
• Start and end classes punctually.
• Fully comply with the syllabus of the assigned subject.
• Prepare the didactic sequence plan for the assigned course(s) and deliver it to the corresponding Academic Coordination, signed by the students to acknowledge knowledge.
• Prepare programmatic progress reports on the established dates.
• Inform the students of the assigned groups about the content of the didactic sequences.
• Capture student attendance and grades in the system on the stipulated dates, print the records, request student signatures, and deliver them to the corresponding Academic Coordinator.
• Attend meetings called by the authorities of the Divisions in which they provide their services.
• Attend the basic teacher training courses required by the University.
• Support the Academic Coordinator in the activities and/or academic events requested by them.
• Practice institutional values and disseminate them among students.
• Collaborate in civil protection events.
• Other activities that may be entrusted to them according to the nature of the position and that are assigned by their superior.
• Comply with and enforce the area regulations, as well as others that establish the regulatory norms and provisions of the University and those established by the superior authority.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education: Completed Bachelor's degree in Languages, Foreign Languages, Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, or related areas, preferably with a Master's degree. Must have a Degree and professional license (cédula profesional). It is essential to have current and updated certifications that attest to proficiency in the corresponding language. Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years teaching at the higher education level. Preferred age range of 28 and above. Skills: pedagogical (teaching, motivation, personalization) and interpersonal qualities (patience, empathy, ability to analyze weaknesses), being capable of designing study plans.
