The Opportunity We are recruiting for an ambitious Accountant to join our client's growing accountancy practice in the heart of Harrogate.

Your tasks

This opportunity would suit someone with experience working within an accountancy practice who is looking to broaden their exposure across accounts, tax and audit while progressing their career within a supportive firm.

• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
• Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Preparing statutory accounts for a diverse client portfolio
• Supporting personal and corporation tax compliance work
• Assisting with and leading audit assignments
• Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
• Handling day-to-day client queries and providing professional advice
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and reconciliations

Requirements

Applications are welcomed from part-qualified, finalist and fully qualified accountants, with salary and responsibilities tailored to experience.

• Experience working within an accountancy practice environment
• Studying towards, finalist or qualified ACCA, ACA, ICAEW or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and compliance work
• Exposure to tax and/or audit work would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and commitment to professional development
• Looking to build a long-term career within professional practice
