EVENTS PROGRAM COORDINATOR
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Peterson Hub located on Peterson Space Force Base. Position is a position of trust. This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
Major duties
Duties and Responsibilities: Applying knowledge of the organization, its functions, and regulations, the incumbent of the position carries out a wide variety of event programming duties related to the Force Support Squadron organization and its mission. Plans and coordinates the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of a narrowly defined set of funded activities within the Peterson Hub. The program/project is usually focused to a single purpose or service oriented and may exist as a subset of an integrated program activity. Duties typically include the planning and administration of events, budget, and/or other associated transactions for program implementation and administration; incumbent is the operational/administrative liaison of program marketing and reporting of the Hub's event functions. Provides specialized administrative support in the development, implementation, and marketing of program/project function. Works closely with the Food and Beverage Manager and Catering Support Coordinator on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative matters related to the fulfillment of the organization's mission. Plans and coordinates the details for recurring and nonrecurring activities for the HUB Events Program, as to make maximum use of the facilities, services, and other resources. Events include: Hub activities, base picnics, and in-brief socials, icebreakers receptions for evaluation teams, military and civilian ceremonies and other related events and programs. Coordinates activities of support staff engaging in the implementation and administration of program objectives. Follows up the reviewing and consolidating of after-action reports and submits recommendations to Hub management. Coordinates with Marketing Director the necessary publicity and sponsorship projects in support of HUB events. Solicits paid entertainment and various other resources in support of events. Establishes necessary budgets and coordinates with appropriate contacts to secure funding. Accounts for funds received and expended, and makes recommendations to supervisor for improvements in funding additional personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities to operate or promote special event activities and programs. Plans, coordinates, and participates in event set-up and tear down duties. May perform other related duties as assigned. Position is a position of trust. Performs other related duties as assigned. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience that shows progressively, responsible, administrative, professional. technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge coordinating events. Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to plan and organize social functions of large group of people. Experience scheduling special events. catering. and knowledge of marketing promotional concepts is required. Substitution for general experience: a four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in Hospitality or Event Management may be substituted for the general experience. Must be able to obtain a food handler's certificate and/or complete food handler's training Must be able to communicate clearly with customers and possess skill dealing with the public. Must be able to read, \\T1te, and speak English. Must be able to work independently and be subject to an irregular tour of duty Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier I National Agency Check with inquiries (NACI) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution. Substitution for general experience: a four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in Hospitality or Event Management. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
