Your tasks

The United States Space Force (USSF) Combat Forces Command (CFC) 19th Space Defense Squadron (19 SDS) in Dahlgren, Virginia is searching for a Breakup Processing Analyst (NH-0301-03, GS 12/13 equivalent). Description: Serves as a Breakup Processing Analyst within the 19th Space Defense Squadron (19 SDS), executing the critical Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission for U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) by providing warfighters with timely, accurate satellite positional data on man-made space objects. Operating as a highly skilled operator within a command and control (C2) center, the incumbent operates multi-platform weapon systems and directs worldwide space sensors to detect, track, and identify man-made objects in support of USSPACECOM's warfighting SDA mission. Additionally, the analyst is responsible for meticulously maintaining current and historical positional data on satellites and orbital debris within geocentric Earth orbits and beyond. The ideal candidate is an expert in operations research, orbital mechanics, and space sensor data analysis, capable of performing precision orbit determination utilizing manual differential corrections and complex statistical estimation techniques. This highly skilled specialist independently prioritizes, plans, and executes complex space domain awareness (SDA) analysis, sharing critical data and presenting findings to senior leadership while coordinating across organizations to develop innovative technical solutions. The incumbent must possess deep operational knowledge of sensor limitations and tasking procedures for Near-Earth and Deep-Space trajectories, alongside a thorough understanding of USAF, USSF, Department of War (DoW), and national-level space doctrine and policies. Serving in a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to random drug testing, the candidate must communicate effectively and respectfully, manage sensitive and classified information, and demonstrate the flexibility to travel via military or commercial aircraft and work overtime as mission needs dictate. Finally, this role requires the absolute ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and active access to required Special Access Programs (SAP) portfolios, contingent upon signing a non-disclosure agreement. Key Skills and Abilities:
