RIGGER

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major duties

• You will execute the movement of shipboard components, equipment, or material through confined spaces of submarines, shops, and other industrial areas.
• You will move and control loads through tight spaces, narrow openings, hatches and congested passage ways where cranes and other material handling equipment cannot be used.
• You will use equipment such as jacks, pulley blocks, and chain falls to safely test, move, and position items.
• You will work within a crane team to conduct safe and efficient crane operations for Category 1, 2, and 3 lifts.
• You will assist selecting, inspecting, and attaching certified weight handling hear to support movement of items by portal, bridge, and mobile cranes.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION For WG-05 -Ability to follow instructions in an industrial shop environment. -Ability to perform heavy labor, climbing, and lifting. -Ability to assist journey-level riggers by learning basic rigging gear, performing routine, low risk lifting and handling tasks under direct supervision.
