EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE REPAIRER SUPERVISOR

You will serve as a EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE REPAIRER WORKER SUPERVISOR in the Production Resources Department (900), Production Facilities and Equipment Division, Toolroom and Equipment Maintenance Branch (900F12) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

• You will accomplish the work of the Repairers performing tool and equipment maintenance and repair.
• You will ensure safety equipment such as goggles, welding helmets, hard hats, etc., are available and working properly or have been replaced.
• You will be responsible for over 1,000 different hand tools to ensure all are functioning correctly including handles on tools which may need replacement.
• You will receive, store, and issue a variety of parts used by personnel.
• You will determine the employees, facilities, materials and tools for daily requirements and on a project basis.
• You will participate with supervisors in the initial, current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Experience performing a wide variety of repair which involves the overhaul and disassembly and assembly of parts, equipment, and portable power equipment that consists of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Eperience making decisions regarding execution of policy which has been interpreted or established by the next higher level. Experience maintaining work reports and records and planning overall leave schedules, determining training needs of subordinates and arrange for its accomplishment. Experience maintaining daily contact with personnel to determine parts required and keeping records of inspections and repairs to all pneumatic and electrical equipment. Experience maintaining records of all tools and equipment in the branch as well as track the issuance of same and return. Experience assuring safety and housekeeping practices are observed.
