Executive Officer
About the Position: The Installation Management Command Directorate-Europe (ID-E), Executive Officer serves as the primary administrative lead and technical expert supporting the Command Group. Operating with high discretion, the incumbent manages critical logistical, personnel, and document control workflows. Acting as a strategic bridge, they translate higher headquarters directives into actionable plans and coordinate responses across subordinate units to ensure seamless mission integration.
Major duties
- Serves as the key advisor to the Command Group for administration and coordination of operations, acting on behalf of senior leadership to task staff and subordinate commanders.
- Manages and coordinates diverse operational activities, integrating program elements to ensure mission accomplishment and formulating supporting policies, plans, and objectives.
- Supports mission and force structure development by creating and maintaining IMCOM-E Strategic Initiatives, ensuring Command priorities are nested within Army and IMCOM strategy.
- Performs planning and implementation by analyzing mission assignments, establishing program objectives, and developing current and long-range plans for the organization.
- Provides a thorough review of all flag officer correspondence prior to signature, ensuring coordination, legal sufficiency, and alignment with Command policies and programs.
- Serves as a first-line supervisor to front office staff, planning work, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and managing administrative and personnel matters.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) managing and planning manpower requirements; (2) recommending solutions to resolve personnel problems; (3) developing guidance and policies to distribute to workforce; and (4) analyzing or evaluating long-range plans, programs, or projects to support the mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
