About the Division

The Finance Division is critical in supporting the Company's growth, financial resilience, and long-term value creation within a regulated general insurance environment.

Job Purpose

The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the Company's overall finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, regulatory compliance, capital management, investment oversight, taxation, financial controls, and corporate governance.

As a key member of the Leadership Team, the incumbent will partner with the CEO, Board, Audit & Risk Committee, regulators, internal & external auditors, shareholders, and business leaders to ensure financial integrity, sustainable profitability, compliance with listing requirements, and achievement of strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the finance, accounting, treasury, and finance operations functions.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and Board.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and performance management.

Financial & Regulatory Reporting

  • Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, listing rules, regulatory requirements, and taxation regulations.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory, regulatory, and public disclosures.
  • Lead implementation of new accounting and reporting standards.

Insurance Finance, Capital & Risk Management

  • Oversee insurance, reinsurance, and treaty accounting.
  • Monitor capital adequacy, solvency, Risk-Based Capital (RBC) requirements, and dividend planning.
  • Manage key financial risks including liquidity, credit, investment, and foreign exchange risks.
  • Partner with actuarial functions on reserves, liabilities, and stress testing.

Investment & Governance

  • Oversee investment performance and compliance with investment mandates.
  • Maintain a strong financial control framework and corporate governance standards.
  • Lead sustainability and governance-related reporting.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, rating agencies, investors, and Board Committees.
  • Present financial performance, capital position, and key business insights to senior stakeholders.

Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance team.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence across finance processes.
  • Support succession planning and capability development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years' relevant experience, including significant leadership experience.
  • Strong background in general insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS 17, regulatory reporting, capital management, and risk management frameworks.
  • Experience engaging with Boards, regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders.
