QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Job Summary

Manage quantity surveying tasks including tender preparation, subcontractor negotiations, and variation order evaluations to support construction projects, especially in A&A and new build sectors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site briefings during site show rounds to gather project information
• Organize and execute tender processes independently, including briefing management on tender background, calling for quotations, measuring quantities, presenting comparisons, and compiling tender submissions with Contracts Manager guidance
• Measure quantities accurately for tender preparation and payment evaluations
• Evaluate and respond to payment claims and variation orders for subcontractors
• Obtain quotations and negotiate terms with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize project costs
• Prepare variation orders, claims, final accounts, settlements, and subcontractor payments to ensure accurate financial management
• Perform all other quantity surveying related tasks to support project delivery

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 2 years of relevant construction industry experience, especially in A&A projects
• For SQS candidates, minimum 6 years of Singapore main contractor experience
• Proven ability to estimate tenders, negotiate contracts, administer contracts, and manage variation orders
• Ability to work independently to estimate and prepare tender submissions
• Strong analytical, meticulous, and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work well within a team and meet tight deadlines
