Are you an experienced Technical Superintendent or maritime engineer with a passion for inland shipping, ship management, and technical operations? Do you speak fluent German and do you enjoy working closely with crews and shipyards?

Then this is your chance to play a key role in the management of a modern inland shipping fleet in the Antwerpen region.

Your role as Technical Superintendent Inland Shipping

As Technical Superintendent Inland Shipping, you are responsible for the technical performance, maintenance, and reliability of the fleet. You act as the crucial link between crew, suppliers, and management.

Your tasks:

• Monitoring the technical condition and operational performance of the vessels
• Planning and coordinating maintenance, repairs, and inspections
• Regular visits to vessels (2 to 3 times per week)
• Providing technical support to the crew and building strong relationships
• Handling technical incidents and malfunctions (participating in a standby role)
• Managing and executing technical projects, refits, and upgrades
• Drafting and following up on preventive maintenance plans (PMS)
• Maintaining contact with shipyards, suppliers, and classification societies
• Managing the technical budget and advising on long-term investments

Your profile as a Technical Superintendent:

• Bachelor in Maritime Technology, Electromechanics, or Engineering
• Experience as a Technical Superintendent or Vessel Manager (preferably in inland shipping)
• Fluent in German and English (required)
• Knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical installations
• Experience with PMS systems and technical documentation
• Knowledge of classification rules and maritime legislation
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on mentality
• Strong communicator and able to switch smoothly with technical teams and crew
• Flexible and willing to travel regularly
