Laboratory Technician – Microbiology Laboratory

Your tasks

About the Role We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician – Microbiology Laboratory to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will perform microbiological and chemical analyses of raw materials and finished products, support quality improvement initiatives, and ensure laboratory operations comply with international standards.

• Laboratory Testing & Analysis
• Conduct routine and non-routine microbiological and chemical analyses of raw materials and finished products.
• Perform testing to support Quality Assurance, Supplier Development, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams.
• Analyze competitor products and provide data to support innovation and product development.
• Prepare chemical solutions, microbiological cultures, and testing materials.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and preventive maintenance.

Quality & Compliance

• Maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements.
• Support internal and external laboratory audits.
• Ensure Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), GMP, and laboratory safety standards are followed.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
• Investigate product quality issues, complaints, and non-conformance cases.

Continuous Improvement

• Support method validation and verification activities to ensure testing accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and laboratory optimization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve analytical methods and laboratory processes.
• Monitor quality trends and provide recommendations to support manufacturing excellence.

Requirements

1. Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
2. Must be able to work on a rotating 3-shift schedule: Morning (7:00 AM–3:00 PM), Afternoon (3:00 PM–11:00 PM), and Night (11:00 PM–7:00 AM).
3. Experience in microbiological and/or chemical laboratory analysis.
4. Knowledge of laboratory quality systems, preferably ISO/IEC 17025.
5. Understanding of microbiological testing techniques.
6. Familiarity with laboratory instruments and analytical equipment.
7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
8. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
9. Experience in the FMCG, pharmaceutical, or laboratory industry will be an advantage.
