The Faculty Management and the Controlling and Finance division are looking for, at the earliest possible date, a

Head of Third-Party Funding Administration and Management (m/f/d)

In this responsible position, you will lead a team of currently 15 employees and, together with your team, be responsible for the administrative and financial support of the third-party funding projects of the Medical Faculty of the Universität Freiburg, with an annual funding volume of around 110 million euros. In doing so, you will work closely with the Faculty Management of the Medical Faculty.

Insight into your tasks:

• independent and responsible support of the strategically significant projects of the Medical Faculty, such as project funding within the framework of the Netzwerk Universitätsmedizin (NUM), the NAKO Gesundheitsstudie, as well as EU project funding
• independent and autonomous processing of all cross-departmental tasks, in particular answering internal and external inquiries regarding third-party funding projects
• responsibility for reporting and the creation of third-party funding statistics, particularly to fulfill statutory reporting obligations (e.g., § 41a LHG Baden-Württemberg)
• reporting to the Dean upon their request
• ensuring and further developing the third-party funding master data as the basis for the performance-oriented distribution of funds of the Medical Faculty
• undertaking projects and special tasks

Your Profile:

• a successfully completed university degree (Master or comparable), preferably in the field of Public Management, Administrative Sciences, Economics, or Finance
• relevant practical experience in third-party funding management at a university or a non-university research institution with a broad research spectrum comparable to that of a university
• several years of experience in the financial sector of public administration
• comprehensive specialist knowledge in the field of public budgetary law including the associated grant law
• proficient use of SAP (especially FI/CO and ideally SD and HCM) as well as common MS-Office applications, especially Excel
• experience with a QM system is an advantage
• situation-appropriate advisory and communication style in spoken and written form (also in English)
• leadership experience and competence, assertiveness, initiative, and decisiveness, as well as a structured, goal- and result-oriented way of working characterize you
